Why is the Panteon Nacional of Caracas so important? I think I'll visit the place soon.(give a different answer) .
The remains of Simon Bolivar, known as the Liberator, lie in the Plaza Panteon, on Av Norte y Av Panteon. The tomb of Francisco Miranda, known as the Precursor of Independence, who died in a Spanish prison, has been left open to await the return of his body, the same as with the tomb of Antonio Jose de Sucre, who was assassinated in Colombia. Every 25 years the President opens Bolivar's casket to verify that the remains are still there. At 14:30, daily, you can see the changing of the guards.
