I would say that the best place is the Ateneo de Caracas, which hosts different kinds of cultural events from ballet shows to concerts and theater and film festivals. It's located on the Paseo Colon, in Plaza Morelos (maybe it's easier for you if I tell you that it's near the Museo de Ciencias Naturales and Museo des Bellas Artes).
